Hey, guys. I am an incoming freshman at ERC with pre-bioengineering/ pre medical at UCSD. I hear the ERC GEs along with the rigorous bioE curriculum is a killer. Any thoughts? Is this impossible? Also, can someone clarify prebioE? At Admit Day, they were talking about how one takes the same classes as a regular bioE but cannot technically graduate with a bioE degree. Thanks in advance.

One takes some of the same classes as the regualr bioengineering majors. Not even close to all.

Compare the two flowcharts. Bioengineering: pre-med majors don't even come close to taking all those classes. That's why you don't technically graduate with an engineering degree.

Also, it's not impossible. You might have to do more work that someone at Warren or Muir, but it's not impossible.

What can I do career-wise as prebioE, then, if I do not make med-school? Thanks for all the advice.

Honestly, I don't really see anything you can do with a degree in bioengineering: pre-med, except go on to something like grad, med, or law school. I wouldn't advise majoring in it.
