I have taken Alg 2 and trig. And am scheduled to take Calc Ab this year. Will I be missing out on a lot by not taking pre cal? A lot of ppl say it is just Alg 2 and trig.

I took Calculus AB without precalc; I don’t think it’s necessary at all. Your teacher might teach a little bit of precalc when necessary though.

Precalc is a bit more than Algebra II and trig, but they’re mostly the same.

From my experience PreCalc is just a review of everything you’ve learned in mathematics so far (in order to prepare you for calculus).
If you’re a strong student it may be helpful, but largely unnecessary.

Precalc and Calc have absolutely nothing in common.

Precalc reviews the AlgII skills you’ll use in calc. So as long as your retained your AlgII knowledge, you’re set.
