Hey guys,

So i have a question regarding math classes and such. I will take Advanced PreCalc my senior year and begin taking Calc classes in college. My question is: should i take algebra II over the summer this year and then be able to take AB Calc my senior year? How much does math level influence college admissions. I'm looking at UNC-CH, Fordham, UVA, and UMD. thanks.

yeah i would def make sure you take calc for say UVA or Chapel Hill. I mean, i guess you don't HAVE to if you're not gonna be a math major, but i'd certainly recommend it.

UNC-CH and UVA will want high math levels; Calculus is good to take in HS because it can garner credit, allowing one to take Calc II and Calc III as well as Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, which form a basic math core.

If you're not going to major in math or science, it probably doesn't matter as much.

crap. i am planning in majoring in science. i want to become a doctor eventually, and I'll probably go to UNCCH for my entire undergrad, medical career (hopefully). knowing this, should i still take it over the summer?
