Anyone apply to nyu precollege for this summer?

went last year, loved it...think it helped me get into NYU CAS this year...well worth you're time a a big chunk o change if I remember

I went last year. Didn't help me get into CAS, ugh.

It's a good experience and gives you a head start. It teaches you that high school teachers spoon feed you.

I thought it was waaaaay easier than high school. Only had two classes though

Which courses did you take?

YOU HAD TWO COURSES? I thought I was the only one! I didn't attend the Workshop.

how did it help you guys get into nyu cas?

p.s.: did you get a recommendation from your professor or no?

I think it helped me get into CAS cause face it, you send in an official NYU sealed transcript with classes in your intended field of study, and I got A's so there's really no questioning if I could handle the work. I had a very low math SAT (high Reading, writng and SAT II's) and I think it helped the adcoms see my strong focus in writing. I had also spent the previous 3 summers in summer college writing programs. I loved my teachers but my impression was they weren't full-time NYU professors. Plus I had had conversations with NYU adcoms who insisted (to me at least) no more than the one teacher and one guidance counselor recommendations. I figured the transcript spoke for itself.

Good Luck all... for you incoming seniors who Have NYU as a front-running first choice...I'd recommend the precollege (but it's useless unless you take it seriously) and applying ED.

Oh, the part where you said you spent 3 summers in summer college gave it away. I didn't apply ED. To tell you the truth, I don't want to go to NYU. I already have the great experience of the big city life, but I want the "typical" college experience. I don't know, I guess you'd just have to be in my shoes to understand.

salem1, which courses?

I understand, Wisconsin was a reallllllly close second for me, I would have been plenty happy there...apples and oranges though. When push came to show NYU was still an easy #1. I don't know what I would have done if I got GSPed though...where else did you apply damsel?
