Precollege and Admissions

I'm a junior who just got accepted to NYU's Precollege program. I applied to it a while ago basically as an afterthought (I have exactly zero interest in applying to NYU come the fall, I just happen to live right by its "campus") but I'm interested in whether attending it would "count" as an extracurricular -- I have a crippling dearth of ECs and if this would make that look at all better I'd be more willing to attend.

So basically, will attending precollege at a school I'm not applying to improve the extracurricular section of my application?

Thanks for any help.

Precollege programs don’t really have much to do with your choice of college. It is about doing something instead of nothing, and the program itself being in an interest area, helpful exposure to college style learning. Sure it will ‘count’. If it is competitive admissions even more so, I suppose.
