Depends on your definition of "not qualified", stats? EC's? Recs?

I would say that all "not qualifieds" are rejected, some "qualifieds" are accepted, and all the rest of the qualified's roll over to RD.

Let's say SATs below 1400, no great ECs, just applying to Princeton to see if they get in (I have two friends like this, 1260 and 1280 on old SATs). People like this, I know, don't really have a shot. How many of these types make up the applicant pool?

i guess there are quite a lot
some of my friends are applying like that too...

but they don't really post up the statistics for those that got rejected so... haha

i'm international!!! Am i getting the letter on the 15th then?

ly's ed international's who were accepted received a fedex early in the week; deferreds (or at least the one I asked) received an international airmail letter at the end of the week

If you haven't received it by mid week (at least this is what P did ly) you can call to get your decision.

Does anyone think, if i call Pton up they will divulge info? Like when decisions will be mailed. Just a thought.

wait, is this the new lounge?

I thought the following was the lounge

I mean this has been the lounge since forever

all the ppl i know are insanely qualified/have a URM hook.
boo for me, as i'm the "average" applicant with NO hook

I meant 50% not qualified in the RD round, but thats probably only true for huge schools like Cornell and UPenn. Princeton seems to consistently attract the brightest students (reputation?) and PLUS no fool would blow their ED shot if they were not qualified (I'd think so atleast) so the ED pool will be strong my friends...lets hope for the best

Question about the Official ED Decision Thread, when it makes it's much anticipated recrudescence in about 2 weeks, will SATs be posted with Writing or without for SAT I? A Princeton admission officer whose name escapes me, said it wouldnt be considered.

His name is Chris Watson, I just remembered. I met him on my Campus Tour/Info Session in June. He likes to call Princeton Publication materials, "the propoganda"

My philosophy about ED is that alot of regular kids, in addition to the super bright, legacies, and athletes will apply. And Pton will take this nod to get alot of regular kids that are absolutely ready to go to Pton. Sure they may nto be the best but they will make good alumni and will go all out for the school... Also there is the whole thing with ED that they know you will be coming here. Because in RD they may be hesitent to waste an "admit" on a kid who would probably go somewhere else. That is kinda my case. I'm haven't cured cancer, I didn't get a 2400, and I don't currently hold down three jobs to support my single mom and three younger siblings.. in addition to being a minority who plays the flute in Missouri... But, I'm gung-ho on Pton and love the school to death, so I decided ED was the best shot of getting in.

^ good point, jacquesier

When a Pton admissions officer came to my school in October, he told us that the Writing portion of the SAT would be considered in some way, probably not as heavily as the other two sections of SAT I but more like an SAT II
