Predental vs. Economics

I'm battling between Predental(biology probably) and Economics major. I'm going to be a freshman this fall and I choose classes in a few days.

Problem is, I don't know what classes to choose since I really have no clue which major I want to be in(and it doesn't even have to be the 2 listed above) I am in learning community, so I'm already taking writing111 and sociology100b. I have 2 more courses to fill up. It has to fit into my schedule and "not waste my time" in accordance with a possible major.

I don't know how to use bingbuilder either...

Help! What class should I choose?

You don’t have to major in science in order to get into a professional school (medical or dental). All you need are the requirements and the admissions test. I’m transferring to Binghamton in the fall as a pre-med and have a PPL major/french minor.

yes but isnt it a lot easier to stick with a science major if you’re going to do premed/dental?

Not necessarily. Many professional schools like to see that their students have other interests outside of science. Even if you did major in science, most of the material you learn in undergrad will be covered in probably fairly quickly in medical/dental school. If you are truly that interested in biology, then major in it. Don’t do it because it MIGHT help you get into medical/dental school; explore your other interest while you have a chance.

According to Bing’s website, I need to take 1 year of bio, 1 year of chem, 1 year of organic, 1 year of physics, and 1 year of English to fulfill premed requirements.

That PLUS my major can be fulfilled in 3 years? (assuming I don’t complete any during my freshman year)

I also have general requirements to fullfill too and some classes are filled up pretty quick by upperclassmen.

Thanks though. I hope it works out.
