Hey guys I'm in a predicament.

I did really badly on a course last semester (below a C+). It's a class for my major. However, I did still pass/get credit for the class. I was wondering if I should retake the class or not. I also have an internship right now and would have to leave it if I were to retake the class.

What should I do?

Take the class in the next semester. Despite that it won’t affect your gpa, it still looks bad. And, b/c it’s for your major, you should definitely repeat it.

Internship. Employers care way more about internships and work experience than your GPA. A 4.0 with no experience is much less desirable than, say, a 3.5 with a lot of work experience. Even a 3.0 with a LOT of good skills and experience looks better.

And if it won’t affect your GPA it doesn’t matter at all. Internship, no question whatsoever.

Should I retake it if it’s going to adversely affect my gpa?

I wouldn’t. Internships are more important. If you have a time in the future when you could retake it without losing your internship, I’d do that, but I wouldn’t ever give up the internship, it’s way more important than something that will be worth a small fraction of your GPA.
