Predicament!

Interesting predicament...

I haven't done too well on my SAT Reasoning test or SAT Subject

Reasoning: 670, 670, 670
Subject: World History:770, Math I: 680, Biology: 650 Chemistry: 640
ACT composite: 31

Anyways, I have one shot left for the January SAT.

Now the hidden variable pops out: I have taken the ACT + Writing this December, and I don't know if I did that well on it (maybe a 31-34). I thought the ACT results would have been released to me today, so I would know if I want to retake the SAT Reasoning January if I did bad on it (32 or lower) or SAT Subject (if I got 33 or higher, so I can fix my SAT Subject Math I (or even 2) and Biology scores. (Yea, I'm applying to the Ivy Leagues, all my stats BESIDES test scores are stellar).

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/827279-chances-some-advice-please.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/827279-chances-some-advice-please.html</a></p>

Now the problem: Common App for most colleges are due January 1st, and my ACT scores may come out later.

To my knowledge, to inform the college that you are going to take the January SAT, you would indicate it on the "Testing" section, for example, putting "01/2010" in the "Date Taken/To Be Taken" space and leaving the scores blank. JUST CHECKING: IS THIS THE CORRECT WAY TO DO IT?

Anyways, since I don't know how well I did on the ACT, my current tendency is to retake the SAT Reasoning. Thus my most important question:

After you submitted your Common Apps to the colleges, is it possible for me to change the SAT test types? (As in I put down "01/2010" in the "Date Taken/To Be Taken" for the SAT Reasoning, then change it to the SAT Subject after I submitted the Common App in? I know that you cannot change the Common App after you have submitted it, but do colleges allow you to change that if you inform them?)

I know my question is confusing and unique, but your help is much, MUCH appreciated.

Ok, right now, it seems to me like you really need to send in these scores before Jan. 1st. That is your best option. Your ACT sould go up a few points at most, and 31 is not bad. Right now, take a step back and think, what if you wait on these scores and Jan. 1st passes, and you find out that you made a 31. I say, send in what you have and hope for the best!
