Honestly, it seems like the Ivies are all a big reach right now. You may want to work on EC’s, add some leadership roles there. Can you take some AP exams? Do you even take AP classes in Canada? It just seems that your resume looks like so many others, you have time to find that one thing that will make it pop.

@ZBD5421 thank you, i actually have 3 leadership positions, senior volunteer and 2 founder positions. I only have one AP class in my school and it’s my least favourite and worst subject, literature, not that i am bad at english, I just hate it. The pop factor in my essay I feel is my experience at the retirement home, so my pop factor is actually tackled in my essay, i asked another cc’er and he said he would give it an 8/10, which is really good. anyways, thanks for your opinion!

I think you are a solid applicant. Since you applied ED to Cornell, I would put you as a reach (high reach/low match) for that school. The other Ivies and JHU are all reaches since you didn’t apply early (you might get into 1 or 2). I think you are a low match for NYU and CMU. Good luck!
Chance me back!

@Philly2000 What do you mean high reach/low match? Can u predict which schools I will get into?

bump?

Oh that just basically means I think the chances that Cornell will take you are fair to good. The other ivies and JHU are harder to predict. I think your chances for CMU and NYU are good.

@Philly2000 just to be clear, CMU= Carnegie Mellon University, there isnt another CMU right?

i think its a good shot, now its all about the essay. I mean most students have really good grades, it goes down to the essay. You have a great chance. Chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1712721-what-are-my-chances-to-columbia-princeton-or-ut-austin.html#latest

I am pretty active on this website so if you send me the chance link to yours I prob will repsond

Yes, CMU means Carnegie. I don’t know of another CMU.

@Philly2000 ty, why would you say that CMU is a match and not JHU?

bump

I’d like to think you have a decent chance at the ivies, but it truly is a crap shoot. Duke seems like a match, as does Chicago.
