You need some solid matches; UCR/UCSC and some safeties such as some Cal states. GPA is great, SAT needs improvement. You might want to consider the ACT. Biology is not only highly competitive but one of the most highly applied to major.

1st generation will help. Spend time on your essays, since these will make a big difference on your chances.

@Gumbymom‌ Thanks for the help! I will definetly be retaking the SAT in June, and yes I am signed up to take the ACT in April. I’ll make sure to add UCR on my college list as far as cal state only SJSU since my uncle is an almuni :smile:
