Kindly predict my chances!

Everyone’s chance at Yale is very low. Their acceptance rate last year was under 5%.

At the same time, those who were admitted had the same very low chances.

5% is the overall acceptance rate. Unfortunately, the acceptance rate for international students is far lower.

How do the GPAs and %-ages you’ve reported compare to the rest of your class? Example does 94.2% put you at the top of your class? In the top 5%?

How do you rate your essays and LORs?
(Note: it’s helpful to fill out the “chance me” template when asking these chancing questions)

Finally: how do you plan to pay for college?

While Yale is (one of very few colleges that is) need blind for international students, your ability to pay is going to make a huge difference in whether you’ll be able to attend. There is very limited aid available to international students. Hence my question.

RD rate for Yale is very low overall. For internationals even lower still. They reject thousands of valedictorians every year, even with perfect scores. Your chances are very low, but sometimes people get lucky.

Essays are excellent according to me. But the Letter of Recommendations are average as my school teachers in India have not written LORs before therefore they wrote some normal things about me.

I have applied for financial aid.

Please tell according to you what are my chances?

Thanks for reply.

1% chance.

Good luck!

Sorry, but to be totally honest - given the information you’ve posted and that you’re an international applicant requiring financial aid, your chances are under 1%.

In other words, if it works out great! (I hope it does) but you should have a plan B.

Have you applied to other schools?
Do you have a solid alternative in your home country?

Good luck.

Reasonably certain you will not get in, but I hope you do.

Can I have a link to this data? I suspected that may be true, but was unable to find supporting data so didn’t post.
