Hello all.
I applied to UW Seattle and UBC (university of British Columbia) and I was wondering what my chances of admission are. I have. Somewhat low GPA, a 3.4 (dropped from a 3.7 because of circumstances) and average test scores. But I’ve taken 11 APs, 3 honors, and a UW in high school class, and I have extenuating circumstances for my grade drop (family abuse and what not, which was explaining on my application). I’ve been a competitive figure skater for years, I speak 5 languages, founded a club, had an internship, have lots of volunteering, and wrote good essays (apparently). This year my grades have been all As and Bs except for one C.
Any feedback is appreciated, and I am very anxious for responses. Thanks!
Is the 3.4 weighted or unweighted and what major did you apply to for UW? What’s your SAT/ACT score? Your GPA is a bit lower than UW’s average of 3.78 but your ECs look good. It’s hard to tell without more information. I’d guess you have about a 40% chance for UW (which is not bad) and IDK about UBC. Did you apply to any other schools?
My GPA is unweighted and I applied for an economics major (oh and I’ve done deca for two years). My sat was like 1100 something
Could some others give their opinions? Really nervous. Thanks!
