Predict My Chances?

Stats:
SAT: 1950 (will be retaking)
SAT IIs:still have to take
ACT: 28 (will be retaking)
GPA: 3.4 UW
Rank: School Doesn't Rank (school is very competitive private school. only about 5 4.0s in the last 10 years.)

Location/Person:
State or Country: Hawaii/USA
School Type: Private (Punahou, one of the largest and most prestigious in the country)
Ethnicity: Korean
Gender: Male

ECs:
Worked on Campaigns for Governor/Mayor.
Junior Statesmen Chapter Founder
Junior Statesmen Summer School Alumni (Stanford, Georgetown.)
Presidential Classroom Scholar
Student Body Senator
Community Service Project in Vietnam (working with orphanages as well as others in the community)

I am looking to major in Political Science, and most of my ECs are related to either Politics or International relations. I've lived in many states/countries, and have studied Spanish, Japanese and Korean. Anyways I have my college conference soon but just seeing how you guys would chance me.

? Georgetown
? McGill
? Northwestern
? U of Chicago
? University of Washington
? University Southern California
? New York University
? University of Michigan

GTown and McGill are a good deal above the rest in my mind. My schools turns out an almost 100% rate for college bound seniors. Most of the students head to west coast we had about 15 kids going to UCLA and 10 going to Berkeley.

It's difficult to say for you. Although your SAT score (though it'll be higher) and GPA are weak, you go to a competitive school and have really good ECs, which could help you a lot at the top colleges. And you show a passion/focus. So I'd say you have fair chances at all of them.

i agree with ^^
you sat scores are very weak though
try improving them and getting your gpa up
other than that, your well off

Hawaii is definitely an interesting location to schools on the eastcoast... as a Connecticutian it definitely caught my eye when I saw that that was where you were from. I agree that your SAT scores are on the low side for some of your schools but they aren't awful (although a retake doesn't hurt). Rating scale: unlikely reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

? Georgetown... REACH.
? McGill... REACH.
? Northwestern... REACH.
? U of Chicago... REACH.
? University of Washington... LIKELY.
? University Southern California... SEMI-REACH.
? New York University... GOOD FIT.
? University of Michigan... GOOD FIT.

If your SAT scores go up between 50 and 100 points when/if you retake, I'd say you'd be in better shape for Georgetown, McGill, and U Chicago.

yeah i intend on taking the SAT and ACT atleast 1 more time each. Also I'm working hard to get good marks on the SAT 2s and AP exams.
