so if i was a senior right now with these stats, what do yall think my chances would be at these schools?

well, not bad...but MIT and Standford are reaches for anyone, yet Caltech is only a slight reach for you. Congrats! You have great stats. Can I suggest you applying to RIT as a safety? Definitely apply to MIT, Stanford, and Caltech because your submission would be pretty competitive there.

thx! anyone else?

SAT could be slightly higher but very nice.

don't predict ur sats... it only sets you up for disappointment

I agree with cujoe169.

TTG

by how many points on average does ur SAT score ur late junior year jump from your PSAT your early sophomore year?

i went from a 206 to a 213... both were off days... maybe 100 pts? ohh... 201 for sophomore

Early Action at Stanford or MIT would give you a legitimate chance. Keep in mind, however, that you're competing against what I like to term "science gods" that do everything math/science and do it perfectly. What might happen is that they'll take a good look at you, defer, and then admit you RD.

Demonstrating a high level of interest and excellent recs would put you over the edge, considering you're on the fence of being a very good shot for EA. Make sure that your EC's show a focus that relates to your major...I presume something science-related?

Stanford (7%), Caltech, MIT RD is VERY hard, and you can't expect much from that. Early is key. You CAN do MIT/Caltech at the same time, keep that in mind.

Stanford would prbly be my first choice but ill see, after i go there for EPGY this summer. Anyway my psat score last year was 196. Add 200 points to that and it would be 2160. I think ill be able to get it up between 2200 and 2300 if I try.

bump. does that seem like a safe estimate?

You shouldn't predict getting into NASA SHARP....it's such a crapshoot anyways

tkmonkey14:
are u really 14? that is bad u know, ur in middle school and from what i see u joined recently. some advice is that this site is VERY addicting and u will be spending several more years in front of a computer on this website. Get away from this site before the CC monsters come to get you....

...Beware....

yeah but if i dont get into that im almost positive i will get into VA governors school. Still, id prbly find something else to do like SSTP instead.

dont listen to grad 06. you can learn some very useful things from this website thatll help u get into a better college.
