Volunteer Work:

I’ve also started a new community service project for my church’s youth program and I volunteer as the pianist. I’ve also volunteered as a cheerleading coach (9th grade) but I couldn’t do it again since they changed the age restrictions. I’ve also volunteered at weddings for a catering service and then some hours from my clubs. I also started tutoring some of my peers this year and helping them with SAT/ACT prep. I roughly have about 250-300 service hours.

Hooks: URM, though I’m not sure that will help me much at most of these colleges.

UofSC Honors College EA (in-state)
College of Charleston Honors College EA (in-state)
Howard University EA
Ohio State University EA
Barnard College RD
Vanderbilt University RD
Wake Forest University RD

So far I have been accepted into Tulane University (EA) and the University of Alabama.

prediction: accepted to all except vanderbilt

Just FYI… the majority of this forum is dedicated to predicting chances.

Vanderbilt: Low reach/High Matches
Wake Forest: High Match
Rest are matches.

@iamjack chances are different from the predict your results game. Chances are listed as reaches, matches, and safeties. The predictions are acceptances, waitlists, and rejections.

Ahh I see. Kinda the same thing though. Wake forest is a waitlist or accept and Vanderbilt is a reject imo.

Accepted - UofSC Honors College EA (in-state)
Accepted - College of Charleston Honors College EA (in-state)
Accepted - Howard University EA
Accepted -Ohio State University EA
Accepted - Barnard College RD
Waitlisted - Vanderbilt University RD
Accepted - Wake Forest University RD
We have very similar stats! Too bad I am not an URM or have any hooks. Retaking ACT in December though!

I think you might run the board and get into all. Vanderbilt seems toughest, but I think that looks good too. Having seen your writing a bit, you seem very bright and that will show in apps. Good luck!

wait list at Vanderbilt. Accept at others

Update: I will not be applying to Barnard.

My final list:
UofSC Honors College EA (in-state)
College of Charleston Honors College EA (in-state)
Howard University EA
Ohio State University EA
Wake Forest University RD

I’m currently debating on Vandy.

Update:

Acceptances:
Tulane EA (Distinguished scholarship)

Ohio State EA w/ Morrill Scholars Prominence Scholarship (full tuition)

UofSC EA (still waiting on Honors College decision)

UAlabama w/ Honors College (2/3 tuition)

College of Charleston w/ Honors College (also an invite to their William Aikens interview weekend)

Howard (invited to apply to their BS/MD program)

Still waiting on Wake Forest since I did RD. I did not apply to Vandy even with their deadline extension.

Recently admitted into Ohio State’s Scholars Program which was my top choice over their Honors Program. I’ve also gotten into UofSC’s Honors College which I’m so excited and surprised about!
