ATTEMPTS AT STANDING OUT
Worked on an astrophysics research project for 3 summers with PHD and grad students and work got published in a physics journal—I was a co-author
Sent the abstract of that to Columbia, Penn and USC and sent in whole paper to HYP and S
Published a personal narrative in TeenInk, a national magazine

ESSAYS
CommonApp essay was about my involvement in Asian-American affairs
Harvard/Princeton supplement was about health policy and my volunteering efforts towards helping the poor who needed medical care
I feel most of mine were a 7.5-8, and I tried to “stand out” with my Stanford essays but they weren’t beautiful and flowy.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Physics teacher gave a solid recc–he’s a published author and a quirky guy; we have a good relationship and he likes me
English teacher gave maybe a 7/10–he thinks I’m “talented” but he’s also very honest in his reccs
Doctor/Supplementary Recc–sent a good recc, wrote about my healthcare aspirations and my “talents”

USC–A or spring admit

Columbia–R
Princeton–W/R
Harvard–R
Yale–R
Stanford–R

Really weird how you have the same stats as @emli8100 , right?

I don’t know what you’re trying to do, but are you posting on 2 accounts and chancing yourself (?)

@jinxorchestra nah It has to be two different people with identical stats and ec, OP would never do that…

@jinxorchestra @kjake2000 It seems that two identical applicants IS actually possible

@kjake2000 @Top10Squad Oh well, the world is full of wonders

I would really appreciate if anyone would could predict my admission decisions from Yale, Brown, and Cornell

Chance me back?

@rowdyfries

Honestly

Yale - R
Brown- Maybe WL,
Cornell- Idk

Those are really selective schools. Your resume is great! However, honestly compared to other kids that apply to these schools, their resumes are also great. Did you put any hooks in your application?

USC–A
UPenn-W
Columbia–R/W
Princeton–W/R
Harvard–R
Yale–R
Stanford–R

Amazing resume!, it seems like your college essays are great too. At schools such as Princeton, Harvard, Yale, or Stanford, those essays might give you a chance at rebuilding your test scores. Although you are a URM, being Asian (Chinese too), makes it difficult to get into the ivies. Asians are geniuses and there are going to be other Asians with perfect SATs, a well rounded life (a lot going on) etc fighting for those spots.

On the side note, did you apply to UChicago? You mentioned that your physics teacher wrote your rec letter. UChicago has like one of the best physics departments.

Good luck on your admission!.

my main two things are being published in my local paper and i volunteered at my hebrew school for 3 years teaching hebrew, ethics, and bible studies
essay was on finding religion and developing an identity as a twin
