@WrathOfGod1999 I participated in only one international science olympiad, fell short of qualifying for two others. Took a gap year after senior year and that’s when I got the fellowship at UKAEA and/through DIFFER connections and EuroFusion. Asian

Don’t worry about those rejections, it’s obvious you’ll be successful where ever you go. GL
Update: Rejected at Stanford
Sorry for that, you have impressive stat and would def. got in if you were american. Did you tried the european schools? I’m living in the US for 10+ years but we are europeans and the selection process is less holistic there meaning more academic based, which could be better for you. Cambridge/Oxford/Polytechnic Zurich or French Grandes Ecoles?
What’s your nationality?
Indian. Schooled in China for most. No, I didn’t apply to Oxbridge because of their interview process, which requires taking one at Cambridge/some Asian location. They have never admitted any applicants who didn’t take an interview, so no point I would have loved to attend either of ETH or Ecoles but I am only partially proficient in German, which I think is not enough to have an education in. I think communications and close interactions with professors and students are the more important aspects of an undergraduate education for me. But I am so glad I got into Williams! It has most of the things I absolutely yearn for and I would have the necessary intellectual grooming. If I feel the need to go for more research and advanced studies, I can always transfer. And I am going to go to grad school anyway, and grad school admissions are def. fairer than this Also, my school was not very well known, and it is statistically disadvantageous. People from well-known schools always get into HYP and their likes even with subpar applications, which I guess won’t happen once I graduate from Williams!!!
Thank you so much @eloywin for your kind words!
@Hehaotim, I understand that! The classes are in english for ETH and the most prestigious Grandes Ecoles and there are lots of internationals to bond with, but yes, the internationals tend to stay together and it’s better to be a german/french speaker to totally fit in!
The good thing in the US is that you’ll good career opportunities if you graduate from a good school (not necessarily HYP), in Europe you need to graduate from a very top schools - good school is not enough since the job market is not as good as here.
Congrats again on Williams
