yawn... just do a search for similar threads in 2007, 2006, 2005,etc...

Who cares if it is done every year, its fun to see how close people get. Here's mine, probably won't be like the real list but based off data found in the overrated/underrated colleges thread.

i might hurt someone if duke is in the top 10 again and ahead of schools like dartmouth. duke should be 10-15 along with JHU, NW, rice, WUSTL, etc. It should be around Chicago or below. If Duke wasnt located on the East Coast, and didnt have a penchant for drawing HYPM rejects from New England prep schools, it would be where Northwestern, Rice, and emory are.

Woah hold on there buddy. I think this thread is about what schools are GOING TO BE in the top 20 AS SEEN by US News and not WHAT NECESSARILY SHOULD be the top 20 schools. There's a big difference. Duke has been traditionally the #6 top performer in the US News rankings since they have started releasing them. It's very unlikely that it is going to slip out of the top 10 anytime soon.

-2 Public Schools get into the top 20, UVA edging Vanderbilt for the 20th spot.
-To other posters about Duke: I think that Duke really is a great school, more so than CC members like to sometimes admit. (Obviously below HYP, but in a more highly regarded class than Vandy, G-town, Rice, etc...Somewhere a little below Stanford and a slightly above Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia in my opinion traditionally) I think that CC members just try to look down on Duke a bit because of the several over-zealous Duke-lovers present here that go crazy and claim their superiority over all schools in the world. Yes, Duke stumbled a bit with admit numbers/stats alongside the reputation blow with the lacrosse scandal, but a lot of that is subsiding and their c/o 2012 numbers look strong overall and I expect them to be back up in the top 5-7 shortly. Just my opinion
