Does anyone have any idea what this years AP US History DBQ will be for the upcoming May test?
I have seen some people analyze the dbq lists and actually predict the DBQ for previous years. Does anyone know what to expect?

After last year's oh so stellar topic, I bet it will be something equally obscure. How about the roll of African Americans during the great depression.

What was their role during the great depression. I didn't even hear them get mentioned in the American Pageant. Now during WW2 I can see with their mass migration and all, but I don't know about during the depression. They didn't really get much attention. I could be wrong.

I was just talking about this with my AP U.S. teacher and he said that there's never been a DBQ about the Vietnam War, so that's what all the AP teacher blogs are buzzing about.

... where are these AP teacher blogs you speak of? lol

anyways, last year it was something about women and their role after the Revolutionary War through the Civil War or something like that. You really shouldn't worry about the DBQ. The DBQ is very easy to write even if you know nothing about the topic. Why? They GIVE you stuff to write about. Just focus on the documents and explain what each one is and what it is trying to show. Even if you don't know just BS some stuff and you'll be surprised how high of a score you can get.

For the AP US History test focus on the multiple choice. The DBQ is a breeze and the essays should not be difficult if you studied the material for the multiple choice.

Last year's was about "republican motherhood" or something like that I heard.
Yeah, the documents help you out a lot. We're doing practice DBQ's in class right now.

Yea, I didn't know - and still don't know - what "republican motherhood" is but I completely BSed the DBQ and managed to get a 4 on the AP. And I know it was the multiple choice that kept me from getting the 5.

hmm focus on 1970's? lets see
Vietnam war - timely since it it has many similarities to Iraq war.
What about Watergate - media as watchdog for democracy-
