Predict!

This will be my prediction thread. I'm all done applying so all I can do is hope and wait. Go ahead and post your predictions (A, W, D) for my top four schools and I'll update as I'm notified.

Here's a brief overview of my applicaiton:

ACADEMIC
-GPA: 95.1/100 (no 4.0 scale, no weighted classes)
-Rank: 18/185
-SAT I (one sitting): 2180 (670 CR, 800 M, 710 w) Retaking in January; I'm shooting for 2250+. I'll actually prepare this time; I want CR and W in the ~750 range.
-SAT II: 780 Math 2, 660 Physics
- 28 college credits through dual enrollment, focus in mathematics and physics
-AP: Calculus AB-4, English 11-3 (my school doesn't offer much in the way of AP, hence my pursuit of dual enrollment)

EXTRACURRICULAR
-Soccer letterman 4 years, captain and all section CMF senior year
-Tennis letterman 2 years, 3rd singles
-Wrestling statistician 2 years, very time consuming
-MUSIC, big topic in my application, played alto sax since fourth grade, honors bands, districts, regions, state band last year (1 of 5 altos selected in state of PA), studied piano for the past three years, composing solo piece for senior project, compiled an amateur recording studio, do foley work and scoring for short films (a lot of synth stuff here), record my own music
-mock trial member
-NHS member
-Musical minor lead senior year
-YMCA lifeguard and swim instructor, ~20 hours a week over the last 2 years, lots of responsibility with both of these, very demanding

ESSAYS
kept them diverse, talked about music and other passions, assume well above average essays

RECS.
assume above average recs.

Early Action:
Case Western Reserve - deferred to RD*

Regular Decision:
Case Western Reserve
Duke
Johns Hopkins
Stanford

For these schools, I have listed biomedical engineering as my intended major. I would also like to pursue a degree in recording arts and sciences.

*I didn't submit a great application to CWRU, and I feel dumb because of it. I left errors and my commonapp essay was oodles better for the other three schools. I didn't completely fill out the activities section and I called NHS at my school "a joke". All of that has since been fixed, however. I have submitted an application I am 100% confident in for Johns Hopkins, Duke, and Stanford.

Also, I have a bunch of low match and safety schools that I’ve applied to so don’t feel bad if you want to post “Denied” for all of them!

Duke-R-
CW–W
JH–W
S–R

I guess are R and D are interchangable. and bump!

Your stats look pretty good to me! Maybe get your physics SAT II score up a little bit?

JH - A
CW - A
Duke - D
Stanford - D

Let’s make this more interesting.

A correct “A” is worth 5 points.
A correct “W” is worth 7 points.
A correct “R/D” is worth 3 points.

I chose these values because “R/D” seems more likely than “A” seems more likely than “W”. An incorrect answer is worth 0 points.

I’m also going to add some ~match schools that I’ve applied to. The point value on these schools are as follows.

A correct “A” is worth 4 points.
A correct “W” is worth 7 points.
A correct “R/D” is worth 4 points.

I chose these values because “R/D” seems as likely as “A” seems more likely than “W”. An incorrect answer is worth 0 points.

Schools with 5/7/3 point system:

Duke
Case Western Reserve
Johns Hopkins
Stanford

Schools with 4/4/7 point system:

Grinnell
Carleton
Colby
Kenyon

All these schools were free to apply to. Since they are great schools, I made sure to submit good supplements.

–

So that’s it. Now, I know you’ve all been waiting to hear the prize.

The user with the most points after I have received all of my letters of notification from these 8 schools will receive a handtyped poem in their PM box from immasenior!

WOAH! Don’t get too excited!! Calm down, don’t break your computer! Just copy/paste this template into the reply box and make your predictions!

5/7/3 schools

Duke-
Case Western Reserve-
Johns Hopkins-
Stanford-

–

4/4/7 schools

Grinnell-
Carleton-
Colby-
Kenyon-

Your ploy to get more chances is cute.
Duke - denied
Johns Hopkins - denied, possibly accepted? possssiblee. I know the most stupid girl who got in, but it was ED, which had like a 1/3 acceptance rate.
Stanford - denied

lol I don’t care about what people on an online forum think my chances of getting into college are. And if you had read the thread (or even just the title), you would’ve known it’s not even a “chance” thread.

It’s a game! Have fun! Follow the simple format I laid out and check back on the thread in a few months. If that’s too difficult, I’m truly sorry for you.

Oh, and I can’t help but think that you’re likening me to “the most stupid girl who got in”. What’s up with that?
