When does everyone think the following schools will release decisions? When will likely letters be sent out? Does this school tend to send a lot or little likely letters? Thanks in advance!
(List with my predictions)
Harvard 31
Chicago 11 or 18
MIT 14
Duke 24 or 31
Penn 31
WashU 7 or 14
Cornell 31
Ps: if anyone would like to add another school or any comment relevant to the topic, please do!
That list looks reasonable, but I wouldn’t worry too much about college decisions right now. Most schools release likely letters late January and throughout February, but a likely letter isn’t needed for acceptance. Don’t worry too much about it and enjoy your senior year!
@Nedcone I kinda assumed 3/31 because that’s what everyone says, but hey just wondering
@azwu331 yea honestly not stressing at all. I got into UMich so I’m really pumped and UF (safety parents made me apply to) comes out Friday so I doubt I’ll be too stressed when decisions come around. All curious
@businessg101 What is sounds like. A letter to an applicant sent between October and March by selective colleges indicating that an applicant is very “likely” to be accepted, which is essentially an acceptance letter barring the applicant being engaged in illegal activity or having a massive grade drop. Usually only sent to those in sports, although a few exceptionally talented applicants, or applicants the school truly wants/believes is competitive for other schools of similar caliber may receive one. However, one should not get their hopes up for a likely letter, as it is not required for admission, nor do most applicants receive one.
I have seen several posts on CC of non-athletes getting likely letters. Likely letters can be sent by non-top tier schools too. My kid got one from a state Uni:-)
