<p>If I am able to score 7-9's on AP Euro/US FRQ's and DBQ's (not sure if these essays are good standards for comparison), what should I be able to score on the SAT essay with raw skill and no prior practice? And to what extent will I be able to improve?</p>
<p>They aren’t at all good standards for comparison. Sorry, but I don’t think it’s possible to make a useful prediction from AP writing scores.</p>

<p>sat writing and dbq writing couldn’t be further apart. I had solid 9’s on the majority of mine, and my first SAT essay was only a 10/12. The second time I went in knowing what they were looking for, and viewed it as an SAT essay and not a dbq or frq. because think of it this way, the vast majority of students taking the SAT do not even touch ap dbqs or frqs at all, and the SAT is a test for EVERYONE.
