I don’t see the UCs changing very much if any change at all… but itll be extremely awesome if UCD gets ahead of UCSB and UCI this year… O_O

Nice to see UCD pull ahead of UCI and UCSB.

Well just UCI

I’m kind of surprised to see us pull ahead of UCI but not UCSB… I know Santa Barbara is a good school, but i never thought it could beat Irvine and tie with Davis.

I think a lot of people underestimate UCSB because of it’s party school reputation… but underneath that is an incredibly strong academic school. The statistics of enrolled students is almost identical between the mid tier UCs, and UCSB also has an exceptional faculty (5 Nobel prize winners, 29 National Academy of Sciences members, 23 in Engineering, and 23 in Arts & Sciences, beating the other mid tiers in all these categories).

You can see how UCs have fared through the years here:

Well said rc251.

I think that, when people are searching for colleges, because it is such an important decision they often do not question the bad stereotypes. They are scared away by a rumor. But bottom line is that stereotypes are bad. UCSB is a great school, but the party school rep just scares too many people away.
