Hello everyone,
As my referee submitted his recommendation, I found out that he did not predict my grades ( I am taking AP tests by the way)? Will this negatively impact me for my schools (Cambridge, LSE, UCL, Warwick) as other applicants will have A*s?
It’s not that the other applicants will have A*s, it’s that they will have predictions for the testing that has not been done. Unless you are applying with all your testing done, a lack of predictions is fatal: how do they know what marks you are expected to make?
Can your referee upload an amendment to his recommendation? If not, your referee needs to send formal predictions, from the email address used for the reference directly to each school.
@collegemom3717 Are the recommenders supposed to predict SAT and SAT II scores as well?
I would like to think that you have done your homework and know what each of those universities requires for admission (I know from a previous post you know UCL’s, b/c I posted them for you…). Fwiw, most of your universities don’t use SATIIs (iirc, only Warwick does).
If you have not already taken the required exams, and are planning to take them in the future, then you must have predictions for any required tests that you have not taken.
I am hard pressed to believe that you haven’t taken the SAT yet.
Guessing you got your NCP to say that your live with them, to get domestic UK fees? Don’t know your stats- just that you got a 2 on one of your APs, but given that you are suggesting that you have a LOT of testing to go, as a friendly suggestion, I would add another option or two- maybe Durham and / or Exeter? - that would still be high end but whose requirements are a little bit less fierce. I know you see yourself at Harvard or Cambridge, but having options is a good thing…
@collegemom3717 Absolutely, I have back ups. It’s just that I thought they require full testing history, and I took the SAT before, but have taken it again in October for some US colleges too, so that it is why I listed it on UCAS.
