Here are my guesses:
Cornell,UVA, UNC,Boston: Yes
Upenn,Brown, Gerogetown: Waitlist

How are your senior grades? If they are strong, I think UVA is a good shot. Don’t suppose you’re in-state? (If you are, a very good chance). D is there now, loves it, and you are absolutely competitive I think. UNC in our experience was as nearly impossible as everyone says it is. D applied with straight As, 9 AP classes, all honors for anything not AP (obviously not PE, but you know), 2100 SATs, multiple departmental awards (each academic dept gives one a year for each grade), two sports, etc. Straight rejection. I think you’ll end up with a mix of acceptances and waitlists, and maybe a random rejection but all these are tough, tough schools and its hard to predict (save for in-state at UVA or UNC which is easier). Good luck!

Thanks for the chances so far.

@89wahoo Because I’ve taken three APs in total up to senior year (and I’m now taking 5 in addition to a separate college level course), my uw GPA dropped by 4 out of 100 (to about a 92.5) and my wGPA is about a 97-98 or so. I’m hoping that the dramatic increase in rigor would offset the slight drop. Also, I’m a NY resident so I’m instate to neither UVA nor UNC (unfortunately).

Again, thanks for the predictions. I will post results as soon as I’ve received all of the decisions

UPenn, Brown: Reject
Cornell, Goergetown: WL
UNC, UVA, Boston College: Accept

Predict me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1628065-the-ultimate-chancing-thread-with-real-life-incentive.html

Thanks. Predicted you back.

Bump

Bump… Received BC and UVA so far. Keep guessing bc I still have 5 schools to go

BC, UVA, Cornell, Penn, and Brown are received. Just Georgetown and UNC to go.

Ok. Results…

I’m not sure who was curious about this but I always hated googling old threads and then never finding a “conclusion” to a question, so this is my effort to follow up on my word.

Rejected- Penn, Brown
Waitlisted- Georgetown (accepted a spot), UNC-CH (declined a spot)
Accepted- Boston College, UVA

Additionally, I got a conditional acceptance to Cornell (guaranteed transfer for when I am a rising sophomore to AEM). Considering the competitive nature of admissions to the program, I have to admit that it could have easily been a rejection. It was upsetting to see at first but I realized that if I hold a 3.5 and take the prerequisite classes, I’m in no matter what. So I’m trying to remain optimistic about that. I’d imagine that a guaranteed transfer would be hard to guess as far as a prediction is concerned so I’ll just call it by the result for this year alone- rejection.

Under that assumption, @houseofcats was 3/7, @89wahoo was 1/1 (assuming the only guess was a UVA acceptance), and @nhdmaniac was 5/7.

For those wondering, I will be matriculating at Boston College and will strongly consider the transfer option to Cornell for my sophomore year onwards. We’ll see how it goes when it comes time to apply for transfers. Thanks to those who responded.
