I got accepted to UMich but I also applied to one of the preferred admisisons program but nothing about that was mentioned on my acceptance letter. Do they notify me later about it? Also, on the "view application status" thing on my wolverineaccess account it says that I applied to LSA with my major being undeclared, but I'm 100% sure that I DID declare a major!! Does anyone know why they put my major as undeclared or is it just an error? Should I contact them about it?? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I applied preadmit also, yet i haven't even got a regular decision yet, but mine is down as undeclared too, I declared a major also, i don't think it means anything

same here as undeclared.. still waiting for my Ross decision.. ugh... it will have quite an impact on my choice of college..

I think that your major is undeclared just because you are a freshman applicant. I am a freshman applicant also and my major is undeclared, even though I chose a major. I think technically you don't have a major until your junior year. Maybe a current student could confirm that

Yes, you are undeclared until your official "declaration" your sophomore or junior year. Writing down a given major on your app does not count as a declaration...more of a notification perhaps.

Thanks so much for the help..Nerj i'm waiting for my Ross decision too and its gonna have major impact on my choice of college too...does anyone know when they're gonna notify preadmit people?! Cuz i live oustide of the US and if they're mailing the decisions I'd like to have some time to weigh the pros and cons and then decide where to go.

I got rejected from Ross today. I'm almost to the point of saying screw Michigan, I'm heading to Cornell.

dsmo - I'm also waiting to here about Ross. Did they send a letter or email?

Letter. I sort of changed my mind. I'm going to give them a call tommorow. If I don't hear anything reassuring, I'm almost certain I'll be attending Cornell next fall.

I always thought Michigan was where I wanted to be, but at the moment I'm not very impressed.

I'm also sitll waiting on my Ross Pre-Admit decision. This will impact where I choose to go. I read on another thread that Ross decisions were going to be mailed out by April 15th. Maybe dsmo got his because he lives in Michigan. I live in Missouri and still have received not word.

Ross is doing their evaluations completely separate from the Admissions office evaluations and decisions (although you have to be admitted in general, first, before Ross will make a decision).

Well dsmo, if you really want to get into Ross all you need is A's first semester.

The ALL A'S thing is FICTION! Per the adcom's: "20-25% of EACH class have a "C" in a prerequisite." That isn't even an elective course, that's a prereq. They are a business school...they are good at fluffing their "brand."

I'm really not sure what you're saying SoccerZoo. I'm saying if you get A's your freshman year, you will likely get in to Ross. You are saying that many of those in Ross get C's. I'm pretty sure that means if you get A's you'll have no problem getting in because some students get C's. Perhaps you misinterpreted my post to mean A's are necessary, which they certainly aren't.

Good clarification. It just isn't what he "needs". He can come here, do well, stay involved, and not have a problem. OF COURSE, things may change now that it is a 3 year program. We will have to wait and see. It just needs to be clear that Ross isn't this monster no one gets into. That will scare away potential students that want to study business but didn't get in to the preferred.

Students should be a little concerned because Ross admitted barely half of the self-selecting pool last year. With the increase in applications and the Pre-Admit program, the odds may well be more difficult next year.
