Preferred Campus for Graphic D. for SCAD

DD is applying for fall 2024 for GD. CommonApp is asking for preferred location? Is there a good or bad for this major with the Savannah or Atlanta location? Anyone preferred over the other? We never visited the school? Any tips on choosing the location ? (Not just major based) TIA

They can go between campuses throughout their time at SCAD. Savannah has the more established city wide campus…their buildings are clustered all over they place and they have shuttles between them. Atlanta has great opportunities for internships and has a hub of campus buildings and facilities.

I think starting in Savannah can help launch them to the other locations, but many spend their whole time in Atlanta.

Thank you so much!

You should check out the Reddit threads about this.
The biggest thing that comes up is Savannah is the more established campus and will provide more of a traditional college feel. Many feel that Savannah has better resources for students (and some mention better professors/more variety overall). The Savannah campus is spread out so requires campus busses/shuttles to get around. Some mentioned lack of campus housing in Savannah recently–check on that.

The students who prefer Atlanta appear to come from larger cities and just like that environment more. Most entertainment is in the form of bars and nightclubs so not great for anyone under drinking age. There are more student activities in Savannah (which has the larger student population).
All of them mention how it is easy to transfer between campuses even if just for short time. So if you want to change for the environment/classes/jobs it is easy to do so.
The buildings in Atlanta (only two and now maybe three) are close together and walkable.

Thank you. She has selected the Savannah campus.

Just as a random fact, The Atlanta “campus” is in the old equifax building.
