Hello all:
In a few pamphlets some colleges have sent me, they list Early Action and/or Early Decisions dates and then Regular Decision dates. But then, they also list "Preferred Regular Admissions" dates (usually December 12th-15th), which they say is when they would "prefer" to have your application. I was wondering if colleges favor applicants who send in their applications by that date.

Are those publics? Some publics may only consider apps in by the preferred deadline for scholarships or honors programs/colleges etc. because they get so many apps.

It’s easy to google to find out what preferred deadlines mean for each you.

No, in this case it was Princeton. They didn’t mention anything about scholarships, so I am not sure what they meant and I couldn’t find anything about it on their website.

At some most selective universities, applying by mid-December provides an increased opportunity for the alumni admissions interview. However, it does not increase acceptance probability.

@TopTier: Thanks!
