Hey guys, so I am officially attending cornell and the prefreshmen program there. I'm still curious about the program so here are some questions:

where do we live on campus? Single, double, suite?
What classes are available to take over the summer?
Does it get as hot in ithaca as it does within the city (ny)?
What should we really bring?
Any tips? Advice?

Thanks in advance!

I think everyone is staying in West Campus this year. You’ll most likely be rooming in a double or a triple. I think courses may vary from school to school; everyone will take the required writing seminar during the program. The weather can be unpredictable and sometimes it’ll be really hot at night, but for the most part it is not as terrible as the city. Definitely bring sunglasses and something to carry water in (you’ll get thirsty!). I’d stick with the packing list they’ve supplied and bring the things you can’t live without. You might get a complimentary fans, they did that last summer…not sure if it happens every year. Bring a fan just in case!

I am also in the prefreshmen program, but I did summer college at Cornell last year. God forbid you get a single, leave your door open. It’s so much easier to meet people that way. Besides getting almost a semester worth of credits, I think you should use the experience to meet as many people as you can.
