So who's attending Prefrosh Weekend? =D

Haha, you’ll probably get a lot more responses to this question in a few days!

And since I’m a current student, I’ll be attending Prefrosh Weekend. : p

I’ll be there!

I will be there.

I’ll be there!

@TheYankInLondon:
so you fly all the way from London to Pasadena??!??!?!

I want to be there too! but flying from abroad is really expensive…

^ My parents are divorced and live in different countries so I have A LOT of frequent filer miles!

How did you know Prefrosh Weekend?
I have just been accepted yesterday.
I have never known it.
Will Caltech let me know by a mail or an email?

^ Go to the descion letter, there should be a link to the admitted students website on which details for prefrosh weekend are posted.

I CANT GO :(

Same day as State Science Olympiad for Ohio

I’ll be there!

…but I’m a student, so it would be hard for me to avoid being there…

But everyone should go, PFW is an incredibly exciting experience, and you only get it once from the side of being a prefrosh.

@TheYankInLondon;
Thanks!! I got it.

What will the dorm rooms be like, ex. will there be one hostee per host or two hostees, etc.?

You’ll be sleeping on the floor of someone’s room (or maybe the couch, if they have one), so bring a sleeping bag. Each prefrosh will be assigned one host, but if your host has a roommate who has a prefrosh, there could be another (or two others, if you’re in a triple, but this is rare) prefrosh staying with you.

^ Anything else (besides the obvious stuff like toothbrush) that you recommend we bring?

I’m so excited! I can’t wait. And yeah, I would like to know what else to bring as well.

And I can TAN. :)

I will if my FIRST Robotics team doesn’t make it to the Championship at Atlanta :)

I think the sleeping bag is the most important thing…probably a sweatshirt, too, because it gets cool at night. If you can get away with it, try to do all of your weekend homework on the plane or after you get back home on Sunday; pfw is a lot more fun if you’re not working. : p

Could I come for just part of it and leave early?

You’re encouraged to stay for the whole thing, and will get a better sense of what Caltech is like (and whether it’s the right place for you to spend the next four years of your life) if you attend for the full weekend. We have enough space for everyone, though, so if you only wanted to come for part of it I don’t see that anyone would stop you.
