Some of my best doctors(I've had a lot with an HMO) have majored in something other than the sciences(bio, chem, etc...yes, I asked. I'm a dweeb.) They had much better bed-side manner, too.

You can be a good doctor with any major. A lot of those qualities are inborn. It's not like a Psych major is going to automatically have more empathy than an engineering major.

terribly sorry, aim78, that was not my implication. It was more of an attempt to give an example of doctors not majoring in sciences as still being good. The bed-side manner part was there simply as an observation of my very limited sample, hardly representative.

biology
psychobiology
MIMG
MCD bio
chemistry
biochem
physiological sci
neurosci

other options: english, philosophy
(note: if you pick one of these options, you'll still need to take all the science core courses so you're prepared for the MCAT).
