does anyone know anything about premed at wellesley? i was accepted into wellesley and i am thinking about goign to medical school. does anyone know if wellesley does a good job sending people to med school? Does anyone think i should just go to ucla or usc, not wellesley?

Well, Wellesley sent me that letter from an alum who went on to attend Harvard Med, so they can't be that bad :). Seriously though, I don't know much about premed (science...doctor..ewww), but I would imagine that Wellesley does well placing the many women who I am sure are premed there.

Wellesley has a special advising process for pre-med students, and medical school placement is excellent. I can't find the numbers, but they're very high. Of the students I knew who applied to med schools, all of them were accepted to at least one institution. Many of them accepted admission at prestigious schools.

It isn't easy, and plenty of students start on a pre-med track only to find something they enjoy more. The extensive advising ensures that students are fully aware of the entire process from the first foundational classes to the final touches on the applications. Wellesley will prepare you just as well for the application process as for medical school itself--you won't be at a disadvantage for having chosen it over another institution.
