<p>I cant really find this information- Im a sr from canada, most likely choosing brown for athletic admission so the common application proccess doesnt apply to me. Can anyone tell me if brown has premed as a Major?</p>
<p>here's the deal: they have no premed major, but they do have the PLME program, which is is something like P___ Liberal Medical Education. what that is, is basically a guarantee of acceptance to Brown's Medical school in the freshman year at brown. you don't have to take the MCAT or apply to their Med school. you have to apply for the PLME, and it might already be past. it's really competitive, and few of the applicants are accepted. they described it as "for people that KNOW they are going to be doctors."</p>
<p>for those not accepted to that program, you can still take the prerequisites and apply to med school. you could major in anything (freom bio to philosophy) and still go to med school, as long as you take the MCAT and prerequisite classes.</p>
<p>Most schools do not have a pre med major. As acadec pointed out, you can major in anything and go to med school. As long as you're taking the required coursed for med school admission you're considered pre med.</p>
