Premed reqs in summer

I never took BioMG 1350 or Bio 1500 the first semester and want to take the MCAT on time; is it okay if I take these two classes over the summer? Will this hurt my medical school application? I am from HumEc - will this count towards my requirements if I take it in the summer?

Taking premed requirements over the summer is not recommended. Are you a sophomore now? You can take bio your senior year. Study for the MCAT throughout the year and take it early in the summer. If you have good grades, and if you get a good MCAT score, it shouldn’t hurt much to have your app complete a little bit late (which might be the case if you take the MCAT in the summer)

I am a Freshman and have to take Orgo and Physics my sophomore year. How will it hurt my chances in med school if I take those two classes in the summer?

It’s hard to say, but med school admissions is tough enough without anything negative on your application. You don’t want to do anything to put yourself at even a slight disadvantage at all. I meant to say you can take orgo and physics sophomore year and bio junior year, and still get your MCAT in on time.
