Premed Science Class After High School in Summer

<p>Is there any negatives to taking a pre-med class such as calculus during the summer between high school and college? Is it better to take premed courses at your primary institution? The class would be taken at a state university and it would not be the one I will attend in the fall. Please help.</p>

<p>bump. I'm just curious. I just hear other people are doing this and I was wondering if the benefits outweigh the costs. So does anyone know if classes during the summer are treated the same in med school applications?</p>

<p>Yes they will be treated the same. Any courses taken at any post-secondary institution must be reported to AAMC on your AMCAS application. And that means transcripts from those school also must be sent.</p>

<p>I really can't see any thing good out of taking Calc I. There's nothing particulary negative either (other than having to sit in a classroom while you could be making money, or getting a tan, or nursing a hangover), but it just seems unnecessary.</p>
