I have done some looking around on forums and it seems that both schools have pretty good premed programs.

Can anyone tell me a little about the pros and cons of premed at these schools?

Is one more competitive than the other?
Harder to maintain high gpa?
Students cut throat?
Lots of volunteer activities?
Great professors?

And do the med schools usually favor students from their undergraduate school?

Also, tell me anything you want about these schools. I'm trying to decide which one I want to go to.

I live near Atlanta, have friends going to Emory, not too into football, don't really want a big party school, so I'm leaning towards Emory at the moment.

But I have also heard great things about USC, such as the amazing alumni network and great weather.

and the Vandy V. Emory saga continues.......Lilu, if school spirit is not a concern, why would you travel across the country to go to USC? Do you have other concerns about Emory that you are not stating?

The two schools are like comparing apples to oranges....

I guess I just want more information. I may be biased towards Emory at the moment because I visited many times. I have never been to USC, but I'm going to visit in a couple of days. I guess I'll figure it out after my trip to california.
