<p>I'm an incoming second-year premed (possibly prehealth), and I was wondering if anyone could give me some basic information or tips about getting a volunteer or research position? I'm completely clueless about this stuff :(</p>

<p>it’s people like that that make me hate being prehealth. there really is no need to be rude or judgmental. however, terranoxic is right in a sense. to be successful, you really do need to be independent and willing to do your own research (har har). a simple google search will probably be more helpful than the lack of sympathy you’ll find on cc. or just lurk around threads about this that are already posted around here…there’s lots.</p>

<p>OP, nobody’s going to give you “information or tips” when you’re looking for that punctured artery in a patient who’s about to die. dramatic, yes, but if you can’t even browse around or think outside the box now, will you really get to a “health” or “med” level later on?</p>
<p>sometimes one (hardinger) needs to be a ****** and “honest” to others. the medical field is not for the faint.</p>

<p>Also, I did relatively well in 14C but I don’t think it’s gonna be a determining factor for me getting into med school. Everyone’s different ya know? Hardinger’s pet peeve is neurotic grade grubbers, especially if they’re people who are trying to preserve an already pathetic grade. That’s why he may have said that “joke” - but certainly didn’t mean in.</p>
