PreMed

Is GWU a good school for pre med? I feel like it’s a place for pre law students. What’s the advantage of attending GWU for pre med? Any downfalls?

I don’t know what the qualifications are to be a “good” school for premed, but I can say that there are a lot of premed students at GW. I think the fact that GW has a medical school (and a hospital on campus) is very appealing to potential students. I think the advantages would be the ease at getting clinical experience (while earning credits and/or a paycheck) while fulfilling your degree. GW offers classes to learn-about/become a(n) EMT, ER tech, scribe, etc, and just about all of them potentially lead to a job. I would also say that GW is quite successful at turning dedicated, hard-working students into doctors, as many of my premed friends went on to go to med school (many at GW) and are now MDs.
