premed

To all upperclassmen who's premed:
-What should be my approach in taking the premed courses (english, math, chem, bio, orgo, and physics)? Bio and chem first yr? orgo and physics second yr? ...or vice versa ...w/english and math spread out here or there?
-what order did you guys take it in?
-Will it too difficult if I were to register to take all science related classes in a single quarter?
-How demanding are the classes and do they begin teaching you with the basics or expect you to have a lot of knowledge in the subject already?
-If I want to finish all my premed courses first and then tackle my ge and major requirements later how many quarters would it take (on an avg) before I can start taking ge and major requirement courses?
-is it possible to go over the 216 units max that ucla sets if you're not careful?
-Do you have to fulfill all the premed courses before taking mcats?

whew! that was a lot of questions!:)
Thanks to anyone who can help me out!

take the courses in whatever order you want to take them in :)
no, I don't recommend having all science classes. And yes, it is easy to petition to go over the unit cap if you can prove you will finish in 4 years. But dont' worry about that until around the middle of your third year.

I don't think it's a good idea to take all the courses in one single discipline at once. You might get sick of them!

Check out the course catalog at registrar.ucla.edu to see what knowledge is assumed in each course.

What courses do you have to take for the pre-med track?
