Note: This is not a thread about which prep-books to use, but if prep books are updated with the recent change from CB.

I want to buy a PR book for AP Chem, but I'm not sure if the 2011 edition has edited it's scoring on practice tests. If it hasn't, I could save money by buying the 2010 edition on half.com. Does anybody know if the 2011 edition no longer penalizes you for wrong answers?

I know 2010-2011 version of the 5 steps book still has the guessing penalty, Idk about PR because the new 2011 editions just came out

ok, thx blabbermouth.

I kind of feel that the removal of the policy is too recent, so the prep books still penalize you. If that is the case, then I’ll just buy the 2010 edition from half.com

You can do the calculation without the guessing penalty yourself.

apexamreview.com has no guessing penalty and automatic scoring with adaptive technology but its for APUSH only.

It doesn’t matter broski’s. Just take the practice tests using the ORIGINAL curves while deducting for wrong answers. Logically, you should score the same on the real thing.
