What is deerfeild looking for in the essays that they give you.

What are their questions based around?

Hey guys I am applying to Phillips as a 9th grader and I would appreciate feedback on any parts of the school in general, But mostly the interview process.

Hey guys, I am applying to Deerfeild for 9th grade and i would appreciate any feedback. I am very interested in the interview process and what the questions are about. Thanks

“I” before “E”, except after “C”.

All the schools will ask u, “Why do u want to go to _______?”

What does the I before E except after C mean?

It means you need to spell the school’s name properly on your application!

Alex…this thread belongs on Chances. Also, part of what makes a boarding school student successful is the willingness to do a little research before asking questions. There is a TON of info on Deerfield.

Write about the tragedy of Lyme disease, its impact on the deer population of the Northeast US, and the broader societal impact of the woods becomming dangerous for humans.

Absolutely. And the ability to actually spell the name of the school correctly.

your right, thanks

Perhaps it’s because you are in a rush to get to 15 posts so you can then receive/send PMs…but your approach to the whole discovery process seems a bit scattered to me.

As people have noted, the search tool (specifically the advanced search tool) is great for finding, you know, stuff you are looking for.

Here is just one thread of many about NMH that I was able to turn up using the advanced search function:

Seems to be exactly what you are looking for, no? A current (frosh in 2012) student offering to ask any questions…

I think the board rewards people who have done their homework and then have questions, not newcomers with a “shotgun” approach.

Just my 2¢. FYI, I’m the parent of a BS student in her 3rd year who is currently shepherding a second child through the same process.

If you haven’t read my recap of our search/application process a few years ago, it may be worth a read.
