I'm going to my interviews soon...how do they work? Is it me alone? Me and parents? Parents alone? How long does it last? Have you been asked any unusual questions? THANKS!!!

For my interviews, it was yourself alone and then parents alone. You should prepare some questions you have and just be yourself. Good luck!

Use the search tool…there have been a zillion threads on this topic.

Try to visit as many schools as possible for interviews, Skype and house interviews are awkward… :/

There are small variations from school to school, but most likely it starts with a student-led campus tour (~45 min), followed by AO interviewing 1:1 (~30 min) with you and then with your parents. Choate and Exeter admission sections of their websites have good overview of general process, but individual schools may vary.

As many others would say here, relax and be yourself. The goal of interviews is get-to-know-you-better, not to trick you. Just prepare yourself with what you’ve done over the summer, what your interests are, what you do outside schools, etc. to be articulate and coherent when asked with these questions on the spot.

My D has done five visits in early November. The whole thing was quite enjoyable than initially thought. You’ll understand right after your first interview. So don’t overwork yourself.

Thank you SharingGift!

Can you post those links to Exeter and Choates overview of the process that you said were on their websites.

be yourself, talk about what you’re passionate about. Look the interviewer in the eye. Sit tall. Don’t worry, you’ll do great!
