Prep school visits thread

For Pretty. no form but:

SPS: beautiful, huge (2000 acre campus). Most beautiful library I've ever seen. Seems the most relaxed of the top schools, lots of bubbly, happy kids. Know for great food and the lunch we had measured up. Requires Chapel though the chapel is stunning. Love the dorms, smallish (25 or so students) they call houses. All have pretty rooms and nice common areas with kitchens. New, beautiful gym. Concord is an ugly town with not much going on and you need to cab to most restaurants and stores.

Groton: The most unhappy kids I saw anywhere. Needs renovation in classrooms. Dorms are weird, hard to describle cubicles. Beautiful gothic chapel. In the middle of nowhere. Brother knew he wouldn't apply after half hour.

I wonder which school you prefer, suze. ;)

You should hear me on Exeter, lol. The whale does nothing for me! But honestly, Groton was the shocker on my bother's tour.

hey sammee! well around that time. I was there around 1:40 ish til 4. what a coincidence! What did you look like

Yeah.. I've heard the Groton dorms were beyond weird.

see, my impressions of exeter are being reinforced. i've always sort of viewed their kids as a bit boring and self-contained personalities.. i'm still applying, i like the place, but i don't know..

i'd rather go to SPS or choate these days.

I didn't think MSU was boring or self contained.Sounds like an asian stereotype that is a bit unfair.

omg msu! i think i saw you. and u probably saw me 2! I had shoulder length hair with a white/creamish colored jacket. i had like brown pants. Did u have black flats on? I swear you were sitting right beside me! haha

really?? hmmm. did you have glasses? nahh i didnt have black flats.

SPS has an awesome campus. Great dorms, ponds for skating, a river for swimming, we have it all!

Blair, is that you my friend? If not, SPS already has a Blair from California in the 5th form!

francis, can you answer my PM please? :]

i never said MSU was boring or self-contained. and i never, ever made any reference to asians (nor do i believethe stereotype). i think MSU is cool; i don't mind her at all. my initial perception of EXETER was that the kids were a bit more boring and less friendly, which is almost was MSU said, so i'm (almost) agreeing. they seem less affable to me.

why are you so determined about misconstruing everything i say? seems to me like you're trying to provoke a fight between me and others. hmm.. i wonder what your motives are.

read the posts 4 or 5 in a row prior to yours.Maybe you just aren't paying attention to the context of the conversation.just be mindful of how your comments that lump an entire school into one personality type.It is clear that you get a little excitable and use absolutes like "boring and self-contained".E has a very diverse student body that would probably take several weeks of living with to describe.you are not supposed to fight on this forum even if provoked.

SPSstudent - lol, nope I don't go to SPS yet.. thats hilarious. but it has changed into my first choice school!

Just for kicks.. what part of Cali is your friend from? that would be so weird if she was from anywhere near me..

"Student impressions (were they all helpful and appy to help you, also stuff like whether they were very work orientated etc): not as affable as other schools. 3"

I agreed. I said my initial perception of the CURRENT (not hopeful) students was that they were "less affable". I never said this was true. I have learned much to the contrary. I said that her view of the tour "reinforced" my INITIAL PERCEPTION. Initial. Perception.

Chill. You do not go to Exeter. I wasn't talking to you. Go argue with someone who wants to argue and when you actually have an argument to stand on.

very high strung for a 16 yr old.noted.

I won't say where she's from until I ask her permission. She's doing an off campus program this year but I'll email her. You would like her, everyone does and she gets like straight HH's!!! Witch!!!

lol. yeah, i was just curious.. shes prob lived near me at some point (i've lived in the bay area, LA area, and santa barb area). so freaky. i met someone the other day who had my middle name as their first and my first name as their middle name and same last initial. ahh!

you remind me of my brother, francis. you argue with no pertinent authority and then when you clearly lose you make irrelevant personal attacks. except he's 11, and you're 15 or something. good luck in life.

"I have to laugh"
