Yes, it’s late but not too, too late…and you could always repeat a year, plenty of people do.

Less popular schools may provide more playing time due to fewer PG’s. My son was accepted to 3 Prep’s in August 2009 because they lost players to USHL/CHL. Less popular in Hockey may have stronger academics and available FA. You will join HUB Cup and other HNIB events and notify every coach. They’ll attend the events and will be interested. They must know who you are. Market yourself agressively.

I think im definately going to wait a year, play a ton of spring hockey, attend a bunch of showcases, higher my grades, do some charity and volunteer work, and do it the right way next september… after all i most likely will be redoing sophmore year so i really have nothing to lose.

After the March 10th madness has ebbed, you might want to drop a note to various coaches just to give them a head’s-up about you and your abilities. But wait a little while so you don’t get lost in the swarm of new admits.

And do ‘charity and volunteer’ work because you want to and you feel you have something to offer – not because it looks good on an application, okay?

I have already contacted many of the coaches and I think i will follow up throughout the summer and maybe send them a tape if i finish it. Also i will make sure that I am first to everything next year so that I dont get lost at the bottom of a pile. I understand what you are saying about the charity, and I am doing it for the right reason. Hockey is my passion and the charity that I am working on it to help give kids that arent as lucky to get the oppurtunity.

Heres some footage from my tournament a couple days ago, the gameplay isnt too fast but it kinda gives you a feel for how i play. No hate comments please, I am sure there are a million players better than me, I just like to think positive. [YouTube - Tournament highlight video](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)
