Preparation

Up till last week, I wasn't even considering giving the ACT exam, however my SAT score is pretty dissmal so I'm thinking of taking it.

I have the Official ACT guide and Barron's 36, am I set?

How much practice should I do? I'm thinking of taking one or two tests. Is that too lax?

The general consensus is that Red book and PR are the best books for preparation.

Practice till you are at your target score… does this answer your question? lol

The Official ACT Guide should be beneficial.

I’d like to know too, so here’s a bump. :)

I used Cracking the ACT and it really helped out a lot. Take the practice exams under real timed conditions and it will give you an extremely accurate representation of where you stand for the real exam.

Don’t waste the tests. Go play a game of chess before you take one or anything that requires a good amount of thinking. Study what you get wrong but make sure you take the tests when you are at the best of your abilities (good sleep, ate well, alert) so you can judge what you need to improve upon.
