Hello everybody! I have a dream to go into ivy league and right now I’m interested in one question connected with the topic. I’m from another country and in this year I’ll finish my school. Unfortunately, I don’t think that right now I’m really ready to pass the exams. I decided that it would be a great idea to take an additional year after my school and during this year do all the preparations. The question is: will it reduce my chances to go into ivy league (or other universities) if I do so (I’ll be 20 years old)? And is there any other kind of stuff which could be bad for me in this situation? Thank you in advance.
Enrolling at 20 is not a hinderance. This is: "Unfortunately, I don’t think that right now I’m really ready to pass the exams. "
Successful international applicants are among the top handful of students from their respective countries each year. Whatever exams you’re unprepared for now seems to place you back from the tip few percents of applicants, right? Selective US colleges will need impeccable academic stats from its international applicants.
Of course, if you can afford it and are willing to expand your target school list, there probably are many US colleges wanting you (and your tuition). Good luck
