I am taking Bio-E sat2 test this saturday(1.24.09).
I have already taken the test and got like 650 on the december SAT.

I am aiming for at least 750.. and I ONLY HAVE ONE WEEK!!
I have already read thru barrons and pr wen i was studying the dec test.
What is a good study program for a week??

Should i only use the barrons since pr is too wordy?
Should i only take practice tests?
Which pages are important?

HOW MANY HOURS OR SECTIONS SHOULD I DEDICATE PER DAY?

Watch out with Barron’s because it is a much more difficult book to use. But, if you get like high 600s to low 700s in a Barron test, you’ll be fine on the real one. Read the sparknotes website, it is a great review, even though it is a tad bit basic. =)

Um no, Barron’s score on the BIOLOGY test is actually pretty close to the real deal (+/- 50 points) in contrast with the MATH II test (+/- 150ish points)

The only difference is that Barron’s goes into quite alot of detail, something you in case you stumble onto a weird question!

I would say Barrons for details, and Pr for concepts. If there are any major gaps in your knowledge, Pr. If you feel confident that you know just about the whole book, read barrons.

I recommend Barrons over PR, it’s more condensed and has less useless detail. Plus the test scoring is more accurate. (Kaplan, REA, PR tests are all much harder than real thing)

I thought the Barron’s practice tests were quite accurate and the information was very direct. Kaplan has an overwhelming amount of info, but if you only have a week you should probably skip it. PR is a little wordy, but is okay for big picture things.

Yea PR is a little wordy, but I compared Barron’s, Kaplan, and PR while I was at the book store and PR fit my style of studying better than the rest of them, so thats what I went with.

i am a junior and ive taken gen chem in freshmen year
and ive taken the bio satiis last december… but i got like 650 and im aiming for 750 for this may’s test…

but since im going to be occupied with loads of ib exams and since im taking math2c as well im only going to have like 1-2 weeks to actually study for bio

thats why i want to know which prep book to use and a good study schedule

yeah, see Barron’s is a very good book but some times you will stumble acros random question that you would have had to read the book to answer like the function of c-AMP (a secondary messenger)

I generally like to take as many practice tests as I can fit into my schedule. There is a certain point where simply memorizing information won’t work for you. That’s where the practice tests come in handy, so that you will familiarize yourself with the test and see what you actually need to study. For Bio, I took at least 10 practice tests from all over. I did the same for chemistry, and I’m going to do the same for math for next week. You should see a large improvement of your scores if you carefully look through all of your mistakes and limit obvious errors.
