Just wondering, what is everyone doing to prepare for the worst?

Here are some tips to fight admission decisions stress:

Stop reading previous years' decisions threads- they will get you either too hopeful or too distressed.

Try spending time doing your favorite things- watch TV, get that bicycle out or better even, go out to a movie with friends..

Read all the good ol' advices on how colleges are not all about life. I mean, read them without sighing. They do mean a lot, however cliche they are.

Get philosophical. It really works.

Forget waiting at the mailbox or refreshing the online decisions page every minute. The letter/email will come when its destined to, you can't make it appear faster.

Preparing for the worst is difficult...

We have a cricket match on Sunday (sort of a semi-final).. so I'll be preparing for it tomorrow... If i am rejected at MIT, i'll try harder, to win the match so that I atleast have something to be happy about( and the final match to look forward to)
If I am accepted. I'll still try hard to win the match, so that at the end of it I can announce my admission decision

All the best everyone!

haha.. i'll probably be watching the World Cup Cricket Match to have some diversion..

I prepare by going to sleep, primarily, but I gotta watch 300 today. I heard that movie is awesome. I really hope it is because Ghost Rider was mediocre...although, it did have some wicked special fx.

I also prepare by listening to an inordinate amount of Oasis, Guster, Coldplay, The Killers, and a little Led Zeppelin for good measure.

I will then continue to sing songs for an incredibly long time until my brothers, who hate my singing, will come and punch me in the face.

Well, I'll get my decisions Saturday at midnight...

I'll probably be out with friends till 11 or so, since this is the first free Saturday in three weeks. I'll probably come home, take a nicee shower, and log on to decisions.mit.edu when I'm comfy. =)

This is it; guys! Good luck to all =D

yep.. I have 300 and Ghost Rider lined up too...

However, I 300 is only if I am accepted.

Am i the only who's missing a decision thread on our board? Will someone kindly start one?

PS: I would have started one myself, but then whoever starts it gets rejected:p

When I get rejected I'll say "at least I don't have to artifically inseminate some turkeys." And then I'll probably throw up from the visual . . .

I'm probably finding out about my top three choices on Saturday....

wow, that is quite a lot to handle! all the best mathwiz...

i'm going prom dress shopping tomorrow haha =) that way i won't be able to check the decision exactly at noon...

Well, not all three on Saturday it seems.... I got into Olin today.. :-D

congrats mathwiz, me too! haha i could just congratulate you on facebook but whatever!

Ah.. That is torturing yourself... Imagine yourself dashing out of the mall and running on the roads like crazy when the clock strikes 12! Or checking to see if the billing computers have internet on them. haha

congrats mathwiz and carmel- Oberlin seems to be a great place!

ummmm... Olin, not Oberlin. It's only the coolest place ever.

Sorry, my mistake.

I have one of the best solutions comprised of a simple, three step process.
1. binge on ice cream
2. watch season 1 and 2 of House incessantly to convince myself to forfeit my interest in quantum physics and take up medicine.
3. NOT CHECK MY DECISION

^ Screw medicine, man - you'll probably stop after orgo anyways! Quantum physics yeaaahhh! (Or you can do both and be one of those "well rounded" med school applicants, hehe)

hahah Inaina, I think I'm doing the same thing! Except not House, the video store is too far to walk in the snow, probably Freaks and Geeks instead
