I received a message from Cornell strongly recommending me to sign up for the PREPARE pre-orientation program.

What is the purpose of this program? Is this mainly just like a cultural adjustation course and whatever? I am from Canada, where the society and culture are probably similar enough to the US.

It seems from the itinerary that its more oriented towards “real” international students and does seem to be for those who will experience a culture shock. That being said, I’m canadian as well and elected to go - I thought it’d be a good opportunity to figure out stuff like banking, cellular plans etc. and get used to cornell a bit.

if it’s paid for by cornell go ahead…you also move-in early and get to know the campus ahead of time! you will have the advantage of going to the mall/walmart/etc and buy stuff before everyone else gets there!
